BRICS & ESG: FROM GLOBAL GOVERNANCE TO
New Delhi Summit 2026 | Governance • Sustainability • Resilience • Inclusive Growth
The 18th BRICS Summit, New Delhi, 12–13 September 2026, has given the world an important message:
The future of development must be sustainable, inclusive and responsibly governed.
Under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,” the New Delhi Declaration reflects several principles closely connected with ESG.
E — ENVIRONMENT
Climate resilience, energy transition, circular economy, resource efficiency, sustainable agriculture and sustainable cities.
S — SOCIAL
Inclusive growth, empowerment of women and youth, skills, health, well-being and food security.
G — GOVERNANCE
More representative, transparent, accountable and inclusive global governance, with a stronger voice for the Global South.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for the Global South to move “from rule-takers to rule-shapers” is particularly significant.
From privilege to partnership.
From voice to impact.
From commitments to action.
For Vijayash Foundation, this is an important reminder that ESG is much more than reporting and compliance.
ESG is about how we govern, how we grow, how we use resources, how we include people and how we create value for future generations.
The emerging intersection of ESG + AI Governance + Sustainable Development will be equally important as technology reshapes our economies and societies.
VF appreciates and acknowledges India’s leadership in placing Sustainability, Resilience and Governance at the heart of the BRICS agenda.
The real test now is implementation.
From Disclosure → Action
From Compliance → Responsibility
From Targets → Outcomes
From Growth → Sustainable Growth
Different Nations. One Shared Planet. A Sustainable Future.
